"Thirty years ago in this very galaxy..."

So why are there TIE fighter flying through the sky in today's strip? Well for those of you have seen a girl naked, today is the thirtieth anniversary of the release of Star Wars. And being a Star Wars fanatic, I had to throw in a little homage in today's strip. Now I know there are a lot of haters out there because of what Lucas has done to the franchise, but I still have to give him credit: he totally changed how movies are made. Think about it, if there was no Star Wars there'd be no Industrial Light and Magic. No Indiana Jones, Bladerunner, Howard the Duck, the list goes on. Heck, even Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End would not be around if there was no Star Wars. So thanks Mr. Lucas for thirty years of memories. Even the ones of Jar-Jar...

On another note, I want to welcome back my friends Frank and Mike who just returned from a six month deployment. Welcome back guys. I'll see ya on Sunday.
