What? Who's Robert Koch? Well some of you may know his name as the german physician who isolated the tuberculosis bacillus in 1882 and the cholera vibrio in 1883. And some of you may know him as Peekaboo, co-star of Steve Napeirski's other comic, the outer circle. But here at Bored and Evil we acknowledge him as creator. Yes it was from his disturbed mind that B&E sprang. So today we wish Robert "Peekaboo" Koch a happy 30th. You old, fat fart :oP
And on a belated note: Thursday was Amanda's birthday, so happy birthday to you too.

I started a new Doctor Who news blog with a couple of my other webcomic friends earlier this month. We call it 'The Who-Philes' and it has news and information for Doctor Who fans of all ages. I've got a really good post going up there later today with a nice amv that I created in it. So make sure to bookmark it and check it out.

Today is Leonard Nimoy's 77th birthday. And of course in today's strip we happen to mention his most famous character, Spock. I would love to tell you that I knew that and wanted to throw in a little homage to our favorite Vulcan, but I'd be lying. Really. It was actually Robet's idea to call the missing dog Spock becuase of the girl's lisp. I was thinking Gandalf or something...

Hey, guys, just wanted you to know that I'm back to normal (well as normal as can be anyway...). I want to thank again everyone who wrote to wish me well (I personally wrote them back to thank them) and to those of you who didn't... slackers :op Also thanks to my parents who let me recuperate at their place since I live in a two story house and couldn't climb stairs.
And because I know a few of you are sick, twisted demented freaks like me, here's a pic of The Scar...

Not Richard here, but Steve Napierski (ie. the outer circle and Dueling Analogs) instead. Richard is in the hospital with appendicitis right now. He's fine, but we're not sure how long he will be in there for. As such there might be a slight delay before the next comic update. Just giving you a heads up on what's going on and if you want to wish him well, please do.

Just read something tonight that just boggled my mind. Enough so that I actually wanted to talk about it here. Long story short: In Berkely, California there apparently was a motion to get rid of a marine recruitment center. Fine, it's their city, if they want to ask them to leave I'm okay with that. Of course if they do they may lose federal funding. So of course they've changed their minds. You can read all about it here. Now, this is what got my panties in a wad (if I wore panties that is... haven't done so in many years...). Here's a quote from the article from a member of the protest group Code Pink:
"I was under the impression that we have the right of free speech," said Xanne Joi of Code Pink. "To me, I thought free speech meant you get to say what you want without recrimination."
Sorry, Xanne. You are wrong, very wrong. Yes you have the right to free speech. The government cannot take that away. You have the right to speak your mind, yes, you can say almost anything you want (though there are exceptions). However, that does not protect you from others who may disagree from speaking their mind. Look what happened to the Dixie Chicks all those years ago. They said some things about Bush that got a lot of their fans upset (though they would never say anything like that on US soil...). So their fans boycotted them, and they took a financial hit. Not much, but enough to make them whine that they were being censored. Again, not true. It's just an excuse to hide behind. So, Xanne, look up the "Bill of Rights" and take a good long read. If you can find anything that says in the First Amendment that I as a private citizen cannot disagree with you and call you out publicly, then I will eat my shorts. Deal?

I'd like to talk about a serious subject here, childhood cancer. More than 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year. Chances are you know a child who has cancer or you yourself had had cancer and survived. The reason that I bring this up is because there is a great organization out there whose mission is to raise awareness and funds to help fight cancer. This organization is the St. Baldrick's Foundation . I am a participant in this organization and I literally have my head on the line. I am raising funds to help support cancer research and fellowships. Last year I was able to raise about $170. This year I would like to raise $200.00 and I can do this with your help. CLICK HERE to donate online. NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL! Every little bit helps. Then on March 15th I will have my head shaved bald, yes BALD, by kids who have lost their hair from chemotherapy in a sign of solidarity. So please any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Have fun!

Beware CBS...

What is CBS (not reffering to the American network)? CBS is an acronym for Cloverfield Barfing Syndrome. People are getting motion sickness from watching "Cloverfield." It seems to be so widespread that some theaters are actually putting up signs warning people about this. I too suffered from it. Same thing happened when Steve and I saw "The Blair Witch Project" all those years ago. If Paranormal Activity finds a distributor I will definitely be taking my Dramamine.

Speaking of "Cloverfield..." "Cloverfield" is exactly what the 1998 "Godzilla" movie should have been. Carnage galore. I mean, "Cloverfield" just totally rapes "Godzilla" anally. Seriously, Dean Devlin's and Roland Emmerich's asses should just be leaking blood because of the pounding they took. And I liked "Godzilla". Have fun...
